Preparing energy charts for an ownership review
Ownership reviews rarely have time for a full binder. Facility operators who arrive with twelve undifferentiated charts lose the room before the second page. Lead with the monthly total against the same month last year, then the peak demand day with its hour marked, then one annotated load profile for a normal weekday.
Keep the language concrete. Say “the east wing AHUs held 18% of weekday daytime kWh” rather than “HVAC is a major driver.” Owners respond to places and equipment they can walk to.
Bring one mild uncertainty into the room on purpose. If a meter covers both a data closet and a pantry, say so. Trust erodes faster when a later question exposes a quiet assumption.
